What are the requirements for flying in a glider?

There is a weight limit of about 16 stones (102 Kilos). There is no minimum weight but light children may have to fly in the rear seat.

People of any age can fly.

No medical condition that cause inadvertant interference of the flying controls. See our safety leaflet for more info.

What are the requirements for beginner gliding lessons?

For beginner lessons, all you need is a keen interest in gliding and a sense of adventure. Our instructors will guide you through the rest!.

You have to be a member of our club. Either the initial 2 month (included with your first flight) or an annual membership. Prices are listed  here.

Will I need extra clothing to keep warm?

Airfields are exposed so enough to keep warm on the ground. In the air, generally no. Gliders have an enclosed cockpit with no drafts. On really hot no cloud days a basic sun hat or a cap can be beneficial.

Do I need to arrive early?

No, you don't have to arrive ahead of the appointment time but you are welcome to. We reserve 1 hour per flight so there is time for preparation and leeway if you are running a bit late.

With a passion for promoting the sport of gliding for all, we provide top-notch training,  and unforgettable experiences in the skies. We are CASC registered (Community Amateur Sports Club). The club is run by the members for the members, all totally voluntary. Flying days are Saturday and Sunday.
